As acne is a most common skin disorder that’s why there are many theories related to it. There are many different types of treatments available as well according to their theories. Every theory has different approach on acne and blames different things as a cause of acne. As there are many different believes on acne, in every theory there are some controversial aspects present. Ayurveda has a very different approach towards acne and its causes.
Ayurveda claims that acne is caused by poor eating habits. According to ayurveda acne is not only caused by diet besides hormonal changes in body. But Ayurveda blames diet as a main cause of acne. Oily and junk food is considered as main culprit of acne. According to Ayurveda there are three main habits of poor eating which causes acne breakout.
1- Taking food in short interval like after taking lunch, you take another food with an hour or two. According to Ayurveda it does not give time to digest previous food.
2- According to Ayurveda if you take incompatible foods together, it will cause acne like Ayurveda considers fish and milk as incompatible foods.
3- Taking food without body's intention like don't take food when you are hungry and taking food when you are not hungry.
According to Ayurveda deficiency in vitamin A leads to acne.
Due to all these believes Ayurveda concentrate on changing eating habits. There are some tips which is considered as very beneficial for acne people.
1- Do not eat oily food especially if you are living in a hot climate.
2- Avoid spicy and sugary food as much as you can. Take perfect balance diet.
3- Take fresh fruits as much as you can.
4- Take green leafy vegetables more as it will help indigestion.
5- Wash affected area twice a day every day then rubs it with towel to remove dead skin cells.
6- Before taking bath massage your hair with coconut or linseed oil which decreases the heat in your body which causes acne.
