Forehead Acne
The word “acne” means pimples and blackheads on the face and neck. Acne normally appears on the forehead as a common occurrence for majority of people and is termed as forehead acne. Acne arises on the forehead due to hormonal changes in women during the menstrual cycle, tensed lifestyle and even improper diet, consisting of too oily foods. Sometimes even hair sprays also cause a problem, as they contain oil based components which hits the sensitive skin and creates a problem. Most of the time, birth control pills also play a role in giving forehead acne.
Light forehead acne can easily be treated by benzyl gels or creams, however if the situation gets serious, it is necessary to consult a dermatologist. Antibiotics are often suggested and prescribed by specialists and should not be taken by the individual on a self prescribed basis. The reason being the harsh side affects of antibiotics. Some people could also be allergic to it; hence caution must be taken when using antibiotics.
Antibiotics aim to kill the bacteria causing the acne rather than treating the exterior acne. If you have severe acne which doesn’t seem to get over with gels and creams then only should you opt for antibiotics. It is not to be taken for mild forehead acne. Do not wash your face too much with face wash, as it has salicylic acid which could cause the skin to get dry and acne could be worse. If you have sensitive skin, exfoliate it thrice a week. Try your level best to keep your face clean and healthy by washing it regularly with prescribed soaps or simply by water. Most important drink lots of water and eat fresh healthy vegetables that could help in keeping the skin fresh and beautiful.
Acne can become a major source of depression, if immediate care is not taken. Never take any medication no matter how effective it may seem, without the consultation of a specialist as you don’t want to risk your skin as well as your health at the same time.
