Vitamin B5 for Acne
|
Early studies show that vitamin B5 is good for curing acne. The recent studies suggest that the high dose used in the treatment of acne does more harm then heal. This theory in which suggests the usage of 10-20 grams a day divided up in a minimum of 4 doses per day for the treatment of acne. This vitamin b5 acne theory was tested with several people including ordinary women and men and afterwards on male and female athletes as well. But this experiment showed little if any results. This process was repeated using different brands of pantothenic acid but to no avail.
The alarming thing was that it produced side effects of various degree as it caused nausea, and chronic low energy and fatigue in virtually everyone that took part in this research. In some other more severe side effects it caused cracks in the corners of the mouth that would not heal. Not only this but using this substance made the healing process among them slower and poor at best. Some of them reported mild headaches.
This shows that popular belief that acne is caused by the deficiency of vitamin b5 deficiency is false. B5 is used as a treatment for several diseases, yet well under 2 grams and usually less then 0.5 grams are typically used with results for these other various diseases. So taking B5 in such massive proportions doesn’t make much sense.
